Hi guys. For starters, this is going to be an unusually wordy blog post for me. I don’t usually write a lot with my posts because I prefer to let the pictures do most of the talking. However, for this post I’m looking back over a very successful year and welcoming in a new year.
I just finished up my 33rd (and last) wedding of 2009 this past Sunday. In retrospect, this is about the number I would like to stick to for 2010. Taking on significantly more work would probably lead to some degree of burnout and ultimately a lower quality product. I would like to avoid this at all costs. My goal is to continually improve photographically and provide my couples with a better experiences on their wedding day. Keeping my mind and creative vision fresh helps to ensure that. I’ve made some changes in how I work and how I handle my relationship with couples that should only strengthen couples’ satisfaction in the upcoming year.
I’ve been very blessed this past year in having some great couples and shooting some great weddings. I’ve really tried hard to network and get the word out about my work over the past 6-8 months and it has really paid off. Right now I’ve got 27 weddings on the books for 2010 with two currently pending. The response has really been overwhelming and I’m grateful for that.
So here is looking forward to a great year. I hope all of you had a great holiday season. Here are a few images from a wedding I recently shot with my friend Robert Combier:
